Jinger Bells!

Well its been ages since our last challenge and no one even did it, BASTARDS!! Things got pretty insane and now none of us are at Sony Imageworks anymore. Several have gone back to Disney, another is London, I am in Texas, so we are all scattered now. This might be a cool way to stay in touch and whatnot.

So, being in the XMAS spirit we are gonna have an XMAS oriented challenge, but with a twist. The demented mind of, Weirdo made an excellent suggestion. Evil Xmas! Since we all have a little darkness in us, its always fun to paint it on otherwise cheerful subjects.

Have at it!!

Eerie and Creepy!

Another flash back to the bygone ear of compilation horror mags. The Warren publishing company had corner on this market. Super high caliber artwork married with incredible stories gave birth to some of the greatest comic magazines ever created. If your a horror fan and you've never heard of these, you owe it to yourself to go to your local comic shop and see if they have any old issues on sale. You'll thank me! Anyway, this weeks challenge is inspired by these old gems. Do a panel, do a cover, whatever you have time for and whatever strikes your fancy. The books were all b&w except for their covers so lets keep it in that vein. If you do a panel, do it in b&w (you can use washes or tones), if you do a cover, go all out in color!

Happy New Year!! (yeah I know, its a little late...)

So art fans, this is the first post since '06 and seeing how I am helping to get Spiderman 3 out the door I thought that "Superhero" should be an appropriate challenge to bring in the new year. Marvel, DC, Image, Vertigo, Dark Horse, whatever you choose its an open field. Even if you've had one of your own design, go ahead and throw down!!!! Can't wait to see what you have up your sleeves!

Happy Thanksgiving!! Week of 11-20-06

Well, since its a holiday week for most, we've decided to take a break for the week as many folks are out on vacation etc. So no new drawings for next Monday, but a new theme will be up next week. I will say this tho, for those of you with some time on your hands and a creative itch to scratch I will throw this out there....since it is Thanksgiving week you can post anything Thanksgiving/Turkey/Fall/Pilgrim, etc related. Could make for some interesting drawings.

There ya have it!! Until next week...Turkey's beware!!
